Narmada Parikrama is regarded as one of the most sacred and spiritually rewarding pilgrimages of the present age. For centuries, devotees have undertaken this divine journey around the holy River Narmada, revered as Maa Narmada — the divine daughter of Lord Shiva.
Completing the Narmada Parikrama is not merely a journey; it is a profound spiritual experience that transforms the mind, body, and soul. Countless devotees have shared extraordinary experiences, inner peace, and renewed faith after completing the pilgrimage.
✦ The Pilgrim’s Path
With the blessings of Maa Narmada, Shri Ravindra Bhise completed his first Narmada Parikrama on foot during 2017–2018. Inspired by the divine grace received, he and his wife successfully completed a second full Parikrama on foot in 2019–2020.
Pilgrims travel through challenging terrains — muddy paths, rocky trails, riverbanks, forests, hills, valleys, and rural landscapes — while continuously seeking the blessings of Maa Narmada.
✦ Vision of Service
Understanding that many devotees are unable to undertake the complete walking pilgrimage due to age, health, or professional commitments, Shri Ravindra Bhise and his family envisioned a comfortable pilgrimage experience by bus, enabling more devotees to receive the divine blessings.
With the dedicated planning of Shri Sudam Wani of Somnath Travels, Dhule, this vision became a reality. For the past several years, thousands of devotees from Maharashtra and across India have completed the sacred Parikrama through these well-organized spiritual tours.
✦ Narmada Nivas – A Home for Pilgrims
To further serve Parikramavasis, the family has established "Narmada Nivas" near Amarkantak under the Narmade Har Trust and Shri Swami Samarth Seva Kendra. Here, pilgrims undertaking the traditional foot Parikrama are provided with free accommodation, meals, tea, and essential support services.
This noble service continues with the generous cooperation of Somnath Travels, preserving the sacred tradition for future generations.
